Rebirth Advanced Healing Sets a New Benchmark: 98.8% Wound Improvement Rate

A Rebirth Advanced Healing clinician prepares to treat a chronic wound on a patient's leg in her home.

Across the U.S., roughly 4 in 10 chronic wounds never show measurable improvement, leaving patients at risk of infection, hospitalization, or even amputation.

In contrast, at Rebirth Advanced Healing, our team just achieved a 98.8% wound improvement rate in the third quarter. It marks the second consecutive quarter where nearly all of our patients across the country who underwent advanced treatments saw their chronic wound improve significantly from the comfort of their home.

“These results are unprecedented,” said Dr. Christopher Mason, physician-owner and founder of Rebirth Advanced Healing. “They reflect the extraordinary skill and dedication of our providers, who consistently deliver positive outcomes for patients with the most complex wounds.”

Additionally, only 1.3% of Rebirth patients in the third quarter required rehospitalization for a wound-related reason, reiterating the effectiveness of our company’s mobile care model that lets patients continue to heal in a comfortable environment.

Wound improvement is determined by measuring wound area from the start of care to the end of treatment. For example, a wound that begins at 16 square centimeters and reduces to 4 square centimeters is considered improved.

Patients who do not show improvement within their first four weeks of treatment with Rebirth are transitioned back to their initial care team for continued oversight. A wound is not classified as fully healed until it remains closed for six weeks.

“A 98.8% improvement rate isn’t just a best-in-class statistic,” Dr. Mason added. “It represents hundreds of patients who were facing amputation, infection, and a loss of independence, who are now healing.

“It’s the freedom to walk through a grocery store, to play with a grandchild, to live without constant pain. When the national average is 60%, a number like this is a staggering achievement and a direct reflection of our providers’ expertise and compassion.”
